Provide onsite consulting services for corporate and department of defense clients on subjects such as Exchange Server and the Defense Messaging System. Designed, implemented, and supported networks between 50 and 15,000 nodes. Provide Exchange Server design, implementation and troubleshooting services to both private corporations as well as all branches of the U.S. Department of Defense. Technical trainer for Microsoft Official Curriculum courses in Windows NT, Exchange Server and TCP/IP Internetworking.

November 1992 – June 1995

Senior Systems Engineer, Unified Micro Solutions, Honolulu, Hawaii. Provide design, implementation and project management services to corporate and government clients for Novell NetWare and Microsoft Windows NT networks.  Worked with Cisco and 3Com network infrastructure equipment.

March 1990 – November 1992

Manager of Systems Engineering, Automation Partners International, San Francisco, California. Managed a team of eight engineers and technicians for the company’s western region.  Provided network integration consulting to clients nationwide and for networks as large as 2,000 nodes. US Army 59th Signal Battalion

                Provided on-site and telephone support for the 59th Signal Battalion at Fort Richardson, AK. Solved a number of problems relating to DMS communications and performance with the SBU and SIPRnet DMS systems.

 

EDS Corporation

                Provided “train-the-trainer” training for EDS University Exchange 2000 and Windows 2000 trainers and training for their Exchange and Windows 2000 consultants.

 

Cheap Tickets

                Performed security and operations review of Exchange operations and made recommendations on server placement, expansion, and security measures.

 

Microsoft Corporation Learning Services Group

                Performed courseware beta testing for Exchange 2000 “New to Product” course for Microsoft Product Support Services (PSS) group and prepared to deliver the courseware to the PSS group in the U.S. and worldwide.

 

Straub Clinic and Hospital

                Designed Exchange and Windows NT 4.0 infrastructure and supervised deployment, including setting standards, planning interoperability between GroupWise and Netscape Mail Server, training administrators, testing automated deployment of software, preparing Office 2000 and Internet Explorer installation packages.

 

US Army 30th Signal Battalion

                Perform redesign and planning services for two regional Exchange sites to correct problems with original site design. Redesign public folder architecture, Exchange/DMS Server computer placement on the network, server loads, and connectivity. These two regional sites make up nearly 7,300 mailboxes for the US Army Pacific (USARPAC) Exchange Organization. Helped to troubleshoot DMS related problems and tune Exchange sites at Fort Shafter and Schofield Barracks for optimal operation as part of the DMS infrastructure.

 

Pomona College

                Assist internal MIS staff in troubleshooting and fixing problems related to poor Exchange Server installation practices by their original vendors.  Set up SSL connectivity for Outlook Web Access to provide secure e-mail and password changes.  Provided consulting advice on Windows 2000 integration for a network that will grow to nearly 10,000 seats.

 

Microsoft Malaysia

                Conducted Exchange 2000 training sponsored by Microsoft Malaysia for Microsoft Certified Trainers, system engineers from large accounts, and Microsoft employees in India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.

 

Microsoft Training and Certification

                Participated in the MCP exam development process for Microsoft.

 

US Air Force – Headquarters Pacific Air Forces

                Provided the US Air Force and Headquarters Pacific Air Forces technical guidance and re-design assistance for their Exchange public folder infrastructure. My assistance was instrumental in the redesign of the entire Exchange public folder architecture for the entire Air Force Exchange organization that has over 300,000 mailboxes.

 

US Army 516th Signal Brigade

                Provide ongoing design support, consulting, troubleshooting, and assistance for administrators throughout US Army Pacific region, including bases located in Hawaii, Japan, Okinawa, and Alaska.  The 516th Signal Brigade services as the focal point for over 15,000 user in the Pacific.  Services include reviewing Defense Messaging System design and connectivity, solving problems with secure messaging, implementing enterprise wide management and monitoring, and making recommendations for future deployments.

 

Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate

                Design support for pilot project that will eventually encompass migration from Lotus Domino SMTP and IBM OfficeVision mail system for over 5,000 staff, faculty and students located throughout the State of Hawaii. Services include assistance with designing an infrastructure, installation services, and ongoing troubleshooting. Also provided assistance for setting up Exchange to work through a firewall and receiving SMTP mail via a mail relay server.

 

Seven Eleven Hawaii / Southland Corporation

                Exchange installation and migration support, including server design and location, daily operation planning, and troubleshooting.  Assistance for staff at Southland Corporation setting X.400 connectivity between Exchange sites. Helped to develop an Exchange organization specifically designed to disseminate purchase orders to vendors via POP3 mail or Outlook Web Access via the Internet.  Helped to design and implement collaboration applications to improve reporting of sales and store performance.

 

Title Guaranty of Hawaii / Title Guaranty Escrow Services

                Provided installation, troubleshooting, and migration services as both companies migrated to a single, unified Exchange organization. Provided services to assist IT staff providing SMTP mail and remote mail for users while maintaining desired security.

 

Adtech, Inc. / Spirent, Inc.

                Provided installation and troubleshooting services for Adtech during conversion from Microsoft Mail workgroup post office and Exchange Server.  Additional services include instruction in management and backup of Exchange, remote user connectivity, and advanced management of the Exchange directory.  Provided administrators with ongoing Exchange and Windows 2000 support.
